King v Towers et al

On the day of MLK's most memorable speech, keep in mind the media will brand him as a civil rights leader. He was much more. Let us remember it took a jury only 1 hour of deliberation to find the United States Government liable in the conspiracy to assassinate him. He could have led all, which is why he was dangerous and so a plan was devised.

Today we remember I have a dream , but not the agents of the U.S. government who conspired to kill him.

Go media consolidation!

Conspiracy or Coincidence?

the conspiracy:

The event is staged to draw attention to the campaign to show Obama "under pressure".

The coincidence:

The events happened as described.

What do you think?

Regarding a gas tax holiday

If John McCain is serious about a gas tax holiday, he must not be listening to his economic advisers. A gas tax holiday is regressive and will benefit the wealthy, who use a disproportional amount of energy. If he truly wants to benefit the working American he should subsidize public transit across the U.S., offer a tax deduction for transportation companies to retrofit their fleets to make them more fuel efficient, and mandate better emission standards from the auto industry. Last time I looked, a car built in the U.S. could not be sold in China because it would not comply with Chinese emission standards!

Steven Harper Cabinet

It did not take PM Harper long to display his distaste for the Senate. Ceteris Paribus, parliamentary precedent does not sufficiently justify Harper's selection of a Public Works Minister. The senate is not a job you quit, and it is especially concerning that the minister will not be present for question period during an important period in the portfolio.

As a Trinity-Spadina resident, I am the least bit concerned about the lack of a cabinet minister from Toronto, as I am stressed to find sometime beneficial from a Toronto centric cabinet over the past decade. What concerns me is the appointment of Baird and Flaherty, whose well documented political actions have been hostile towards the city. As for Mr. SARS is a joke, a distinctly curious selection. What favours did he perform to earn another chance in government? Based on his Bio, his undergrad degree and drinking at the legion are key to his success, unless his experience as a "special" assistant (what duties do they perform, was Monica a special assistant? Just wondering...) deem him qualified to be President of the Treasury Board. At least it reaffirms that Mr. Harper is much more closely linked to Mr. Harris than I suspected. Rest of Canada, welcome to Ontario.

Stockwell Day is not qualified for cabinet. It is an embarrassment that he is there. I feel anything but safe having him represent Canada on border security issues with the U.S.

As for the others, hum-ho. Time will tell.

Intermission Annoucement

At this time, I have decided that this blog does not meem the criteria of what I feel is clever, funny, or interesting. Therefore I now declare this blog to be in intermission.

Campaigns!

The current President is the first one appointed by the Supreme Court. Of all the Presidents of the United States, he is ranks among the lowest in accountability to the press. His energy commission contained only corporate interests. He decided to go to war under false pretenses. Under his predicament the federal deficit is at all time high, breaking the record deficit last year. At the same time, he pushed through all types tax cuts, thus reducing government revenue. How responsible is it to cut taxes while at war, and then give $200 billion to defense contractors, including those run by individuals associated with the inner circle of virtually every President since Nixon.

Yet he is able to convince the public that he is the better person to lead the nation in the early years of the 21st century.

Debates! Strikes!

For a President in office because of the judicial branch, It is interesting to see Mr. Bush deride judicial decisions on gay marriage.

If the flu vaccine comes from Canada, how do we know it will be safe?(see transcripts debate 2)

Watching the Buffalo local news, I found out about the massive traffic jam at the Peace Bridge because of striking Canadian customs agents.

Blocking the border and making life miserable for New Yorkers.

All because Bush cannot build a coalition.

No flu shots for you.

Or $100 Canadian per needle.

Go Strikes!

Consumerism Reaches Space

Did you ever think an individual would be powerful enough to go to space spending only his own money?

In the World of consumerism:

- The richest are the most powerful
- Moonraker is a documentary starring Roger Moore
- The individual can be more powerful than the nation state

The power is in your wallet.

Buyer beware.
