CHAAAAAAAARGE!
On this, the eve of the final Montreal Expos home game, a chapter in my life is closing. I grew up listening to the Expos on the radio. When I was in Beavers, Chris Speier, the Expos short stop, used to come by my Beaver(Scout) meetings. I remember almost every game I saw in Olympic Stadium.
Good for Montreal. The strike in 1994 saw the length to which MLB would go to keep a World Series out of Montreal. Montreal gave everything they had to baseball and baseball gave them shit in return. The city that introduced Jackie Robinson to professional baseball is being deserted by those who own the game.
The fans are not to blame. Montreal will always be a baseball town.
Go Expos.
