Noise Pollution or Social Movement

As I meandered through the noise pollution that is a Canadian hockey victory celebration, I could not help but think how different the world would be if people were as passionate about other things going on the World. For example, imagine if people honked the horns of their cars in protest of the 50,000 people murdered in the genocide in Sudan. Or the hundred of thousands homeless because of the hurricanes. Or the fact that there were 50 homeless people outside the Air Canada Center begging for change, as 50 limousines idled waiting for the game to end.

But maybe it was not hockey. Perhaps the people were celebrating because today, just like every other day, more people were murdered in the name of God than Osama, George W. and Saddam combined. After all, celebrating is more fun.

Go Canada.
